ABOUT

IS THERE A MYSTERY LIFE?

Have you ever wondered why you're here—or sensed there might be something deeper to life?

Maybe you’ve had a vivid dream, a strange coincidence, or a sudden, powerful insight that felt meaningful—as if, just for a moment, everything was connected.
Or perhaps you’ve found yourself asking: Why is life so painfu
l?

At Elephant, we believe the real “elephant in the room” is the mystery at the heart of human experience. Despite the dominance of materialist worldviews, research shows that non-ordinary events are not only common but often deeply transformative. These experiences challenge the notion that reality is purely physical and invite us to consider a more interconnected, conscious universe. Elephant’s mission is to create space for honest, open, and grounded dialogue around these experiences—without reducing them to pathology, conspiracy, or fantasy. We aim to shift the conversation and expand the boundaries of what is socially, culturally, and scientifically acceptable.

Across the globe, millions of people report having non-ordinary experiences—moments that fall outside conventional definitions of reality. These include precognition, synchronicity, spiritual or mystical awakenings, near-death or out-of-body events, lucid dreaming, and sensed presences. Far from being fringe phenomena, such experiences are widely documented in scientific and sociological research. Surveys in the UK and USA show that up to 50% of people have had at least one spiritual or mystical experience; over 40% report dreams that later came true; and approximately 10–20% say they’ve had a near-death or out-of-body experience. These numbers are even higher in countries like Brazil and India, where cultural frameworks are more open to such phenomena.

In parallel, over the past 40 years, a growing body of psychological, neuroscientific, and sociological research has shown that many non-ordinary experiences can be profoundly healing and transformative—especially when they are acknowledged, supported, and integrated with care. Whether triggered by trauma, contemplative practice, psychedelics, or arising spontaneously, these experiences are often followed by lasting shifts in perception, values, wellbeing, and worldview. They are linked to increased life meaning, reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression, post-traumatic growth, greater empathy, and enhanced creativity. Crucially, the potential for transformation is strongest when these experiences are not pathologised but seen as meaningful stages of human development.

At Elephant, we aim to be part of a broader cultural shift—one where such experiences are normalised, supported, and treated with dignity.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

We stand for the idea that a global shift in awareness is underway. As cultures blend, ancient wisdom resurfaces, and people gain broader access to knowledge and inner practices, more and more individuals are beginning to sense a deeper truth: that reality is not limited to the material.

Practices such as meditation, yoga, breathwork, and psychedelics—once seen as fringe—are now unlocking profound, often unexplainable experiences for growing numbers of people. These non-ordinary experiences are increasingly understood not as signs of dysfunction, but as powerful gateways to healing, creativity, and the redefinition of the self and purpose. They remind us that the human journey is more mysterious, sacred, and interconnected than we are often taught.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to be part of this global awakening of consciousness—one in which people become more aware of the transformative significance of non-ordinary experiences. As this awareness grows, three key implications are emerging:

  • A New Understanding of Reality

These experiences challenge the dominant materialist worldview. They suggest that reality may be fundamentally different from what we’ve been taught—that, at a deeper level, everything is interconnected, and consciousness may not be confined to the brain.

  • Healing and Transformation -

When approached with support and care, non-ordinary experiences often lead to deep healing. Patterns across cultures and disciplines point to a strong connection between these experiences and personal transformation—offering therapeutic potential beyond what conventional medicine or psychology alone can provide.

  • Social Change -

These first two insights point toward a broader realisation: we are living through a time of profound political, economic, and ecological upheaval. As a deeper awareness of the interconnectedness of all life takes root, a new possibility emerges—that humanity can face its greatest challenges (climate change, inequality, conflict) not with fear and division, but through cooperation, compassion, and collective intelligence.

Elephant exists to support and amplify this shift. We aim to cultivate a culture in which people can explore, integrate, and share these experiences with openness, support, and respect.

WHY ‘THE ELEPHANT’?

The name holds two meanings:

  • The Elephant in the Room -

The deeper layers of reality—consciousness, mystery, transformation—are ever-present, yet often ignored. Elephant exists to name and explore what is often left unspoken.

  • The Parable of the Blind Men and the Elephant -

Each person touches only part of the truth. Only by bringing together diverse perspectives—scientific, spiritual, cultural—can we begin to understand the whole.

WHAT WE DO

  • Media & Storytelling -

We make content, document and share real experiences, ideas, and reflections that speak to the mystery of life and its transformative potential.
