I was always a "weirdo" because I did not hide my attraction toward spirituality and spiritual wisdom since my childhood.
Human history is full of people who were marginalized because of their out-there ideas, but became understood and highly respected years later. "What? The earth is sphere-shaped, you say? But we'd slide and fall off! Don't be such a fool." How many potential Galileos and Socrateses made it to become paragons of progress, and how many didn't, I wonder?
On the one hand, people say they want progress, on the other hand, people resist new ideas. That has boggled me for years now.
